THE SUMMONER'S HANDBOOK
Start with the three answers that get you into the game fastest. Everything after that is here when you want to go deeper.
FIRST QUESTION
Pay the mana number in a card's upper-left corner to play it. Summons enter beside your Summoner and normally wait until your next turn before moving or attacking.
How hard it hits.
A shield pool damage breaks before Health.
At zero, the summon is destroyed.
Damage breaks Ward, then Defense, then Health. Defense does not refill between attacks. In close combat, the defender strikes back at the same time; that return hit is called recoil.
Movement follows the pattern printed on the card. Reduce the enemy Summoner to zero health to win.
EMBER KNIGHT

IRON WARDEN
Moves as: rook
Both shields break · 2 Health damage gets through each way
SECOND QUESTION
The Infinite Descent is the best reliable starting path. Your first three floors teach the game and award 50 gems plus a Tome of Commissions. Every finished run also pays gems based on floor and score, up to 100.
Floors 1–3 teach summoning, commands, spells, traps, and positioning.
Complete the tutorial for 50 gems. Later run payouts grow with depth and score.
Choose temporary card buffs, deck-wide mutations, wild synergies, and dungeon-only cards.
Every fifth floor is a guardian floor with a major, non-duplicate relic choice.
Also earn gems from no-risk bot wins, PvP spoils, tournament prizes, or sacrificing unwanted cards at the Altar.
THIRD QUESTION
A Tome of Commissions is a five-opening forge license. Every new summoner starts with one, the Descent tutorial awards another, and more licenses are sold in the Shop.
Use your welcome Tome, finish the tutorial, or visit the Shop.
Go to Packs and find Craft Your Own beneath the standard packs.
Choose the license, name your pack, and describe exactly what should live inside it.
The bound pack stays in Your Bound Packs after its licensed openings are used. Each gem-priced opening creates five permanent cards, and a Forgewright's Writ can rekindle an exhausted pack without changing its theme.
GO DEEPER
A normal deck needs 25–40 cards. You may include no more than two copies of the same card. The deck builder shows mana curve, summon/spell/trap balance, average summon stats, creature types, and detected synergies.
Summons occupy the board, move, attack, and protect your Summoner. Spells resolve an effect immediately or create a timed zone. Traps are placed face-down and trigger when their printed condition occurs.
Common, uncommon, rare, and legendary cards become progressively harder to pull. Higher-rarity spells receive stronger potency and duration guarantees, while every pack guarantees at least one uncommon card or better.
Summons have color-coded creature types such as dragon, wizard, goblin, or mermaid. Type-affinity cards work normally on every valid target, then gain extra potency on their matching type. Themed custom packs strongly align their summons and affinities with the requested theme, making focused decks more rewarding without creating dead cards.
No. Card buffs, relics, expedition techniques, and impossible cards exist only for that run. Your collection cards are never permanently altered. Gems, tutorial rewards, and leaderboard scores do persist.
Card mechanics and lore are created first, then the artwork is painted and archived. You may leave the reveal page; finished art is stored permanently so everyone can see it later. A placeholder appears while it is still being made.
Challenge links can be shared directly or sent to friends through notifications. Tournaments are free to register for, use double elimination, and send each match lobby through the notification bell. Check in within five minutes when a match opens.
Take unwanted cards to the Altar and sacrifice them for gems. Rarer cards pay more. You can also use catalysts to fuse two cards into a new result, with a small chance of producing a Chimera.
The Shop carries items for guided lore revisions and new artwork. Echoes are the special duplication currency; rare and legendary copies cost more, and duplicating a Chimera is exceptionally expensive.
Yes. Your Summoner profile lets you change to any unique name and link an existing account to Google without losing cards or progress. Password-created accounts must verify their email before using gameplay and economy features.
